英文作文練習 - Cyberbullying

Back in the days, bullying was only confined in areas like schools and playgrounds where you have face-to-face contact with other people. Nevertheless, with the growth of technology, a new kind of bullying has appeared – cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying is defined as using the Internet to harm other people. It is done in the virtual world so it is more difficult to find out about who is doing cyberbullying. Although it does not seem as physical as the traditional bullying, cyberbullying can also bring tragic consequences to our health both mentally and physically.

In my point of view, there are a few ways to prevent ourselves from the bad consequences of cyberbullying. Firstly, you can just ignore the harmful messages you receive. Moreover, if you cannot tolerate these cyberbullying, you can block the users who always send you hateful messages. In addition, talking to someone you know well, such as a friend or your parents, can be a great help. Finally, if the situation is severe and you feel like you are in real danger, you can always turn to the authorities as well.

Even though cyberbullying does not seem to be as harmful and physical as the traditional bullying in the beginning, it can still bring significant and long-lasting impacts. When the situation is serious, it can even make a person to commit suicide. As a result, we should take the steps described above to prevent ourselves from cyberbullying.
